Hola!! The Nexus 5 is here.
Google Nexus 5 is by far the most leaked and the most anticipated phone of 2013. We all know the most important factor of the Nexus devices is their aggressive price point. The Nexus 4 was sold for just $249 and that too Unlocked! Moreover, the Nexus devices gets updates from Android as soon as they are released. Its great to have the updates as and when they are released and not to wait till the manufacturers release their custom updates.
If we look at the design of the phone it reminds of the Nexus 7 tab. Its soft-touch, matte finish back and the design of the body finds similarities from its big brother. Its predecessor the Nexus 4 had a weight of 139g, but the Nexus 5 is 9 grams less. Thanks to the polycarbonate plastic used, its now more light and more durable. More durable than the all glass back of the Nexus 4! Overall the design is very subtle and minimalist from the outer side.
What’s inside is that makes this Nexus stand out of the crowd. Nexus 5 has an IPS display size of 4.95inch, 1080×1920 pixels resolution that’s 445 PPI!! Yes its more than the Galaxy S4 or the Sony Xperia Z1. Powered with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor along with Adreno 330 GPU, this beast is really going to fest on all the heavy games and graphics hungry applications a nice treat. Its almost identical to the LG G2, but only in specifications. The LG G2 has a 3000 mAh sized battery while the Nexus 5 has only 2300 mAh. But the new KitKat update brings new performance and battery updates. So we can hope that even 2300 mAh would also be fine with moderate use.
The best selling point of Nexus 5 is the pricing. You can get the 16 GB for $349 and 32 GB for $399 only!! This unbeatable price is surely a pick for even those who don’t want it!!
All in all Nexus 5 is a great device for the developers and also who like the Vanilla Android experience more.
I’m waiting for mine to get shipped, hopefully i will be able to show you more about Nexus 5 in the coming weeks!
