Samsung has finally confirmed what we were all expecting. The Samsung Galaxy S7 launch will take place on February 21 at MWC 2016, with the firm sending out invites for its next Unpacked event.
The latest leaked images suggest that there will be two variants as last year, namely the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. Below are some of the leaked images from the Vietnamese site Review Dao, showing the back of 32GB Galaxy S7 model. The images confirm that Samsung is going with their previous year Flagship design patterns which is a good thing because the Galaxy S6 was really a great looking device.
While it’s also suggested we may get a fully waterproof Galaxy S7 with one leaker suggesting it’s going to be IP68 certified, a little stronger than the Galaxy S5. Sources also claim that the company is experimenting with a magnesium based alloy that will make the phone stronger whilst keeping it light and allow the heat out when the processor is working hard.
Another rumour suggest that Samsung may adopt a similar feature to the iPhone 6S’s 3D Touch technology. While the 3D Touch on the new iPhones looks gimmicky to many, though many apps have started utilizing this feature and with Samsung also using this in it’s latest Flagship it seems that the 3D Touch may be a thing in coming days.
Of course Samsung will be deploying the Snapdragon 820 chip along with the in-house built Exynos chipset. So expect two different versions of Galaxy S7 . It’s also been rumored that the Samsung Galaxy S7 will support USB Type-C, allowing it to charge faster and meaning you can plug the cable in either way round. We’d say this is one rumor that’s almost guaranteed to be true, as more and more phones are adding USB Type-C support and Samsung won’t want to be left behind.
While there’s no word yet on what the Samsung Galaxy S7 will cost but we can tell you right now that it will be very expensive. So start saving now if you want to get one !
