Apple announced it’s most powerful 4-inch smartphone, the iPhone SE on 21st March,2016. The phone looks like a mix-breed between the iPhone 5S and the latest and greatest iPhone 6S.
Let’s get right into the details, the name is iPhone SE and not iPhone 5SE as expected. The phone comes with Retina display and includes all the colors that are currently available(Yes, the Rose Gold is also there!). The device is powered by the 64- bit A9 processor and M9 motion coprocessor, all from it’s big brother the iPhone 6S.

When compared to the iPhone 5S, the new iPhone SE has faster LTE, faster Wi-Fi(802.11ac), better battery life, new microphones and the all new addition of Apple Pay support.
Apple calls the iPhone SE “the most powerful 4-inch smartphone ever.”
Apple said that the iPhone SE will be available for pre-order from 24th, March. The 16GB variant would cost you $399 and $499 for the 64GB variant. The sale would start from 31st of March. If your’e not from the West(Just like me!), then you’ll have to wait till May to get hands on for the phone. Tim Cook said the phone will be in more than 100 countries by the end of May, sigh! The starting price for the iPhone SE will be around Rs. 39,000 in India. It will be available for purchase starting early April.
Apple as a company has done very good in terms of product service and design. But if we take a note about their product launches it will be very clear about how confused they get. A few years before 4-inch was the best size for a smartphone, which changed back to 5-inch with the release of iPhone 6. And now again we have a 4-inch screen sized phone. I know the company does all this with respect to the customer requirements, but hey at least don’t claim something when you don’t know what the best will be!
