Are you looking for best smartphone under 25000? It is always a trouble when you are deciding to buy a new phone. There are always new devices coming up and the budget smartphone segment is something that is crowded with a lot of options. So, this post will help you narrow down your choices in finding the best smartphone in 25000.
1. Xiaomi Mi 5
Xiaomi has been in the market for quite some time now and it has been consistently making great devices over the past few years. The Xiaomi Mi 5 is the company’s latest flagship for the year 2016. The phone has been made with great attention to the details. Metal and glass combination has been a hit and this one is also no exception. On the front we are greeted with a 5.1-inch 1080 P full HD display with 428 PPI. The Corning Gorilla Glass 4 covers both the front and rear of the phone.
Xiaomi Mi 5 is the first phone in India to come with Qualcomm’s latest flagship Snapdragon 820 processor. It has 3GB of RAM and Adreno 530 GPU, so you’re assured that this phone will perform no matter what you throw at it. The next big feature of the device is it’s camera, it comes with a 16 MP rear shooter with Sony’s IMX298 sensor and 4-axis OIS capability. The f/2.0 aperture and dual-LED flash will help you take those low light shots with ease. You can also do 4K video recording and it includes Sapphire glass cover for lens protection. On the front, it has a 4MP shooter with f/2.0 aperture. The phone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow but has it’s own MIUI 7 skin over it. The Xiaomi Mi 5 comes with 32 GB internal storage, though there are other version but sadly they won’t be coming in India. There is no microSD card option in this device. There is dual SIM support for 4G bands and VoLTE. It comes with fingerprint scanner integrated into the physical home button on the front. The phone has USB Type C port, NFC and an IR Blaster which is a welcome addition. All this is backed up by a 3000 mAH battery with Quick Charge 3.0 fast charge support.
The Xiaomi Mi 5 is a complete package, a flagship phone priced aggressively and targeted at the masses. This phone takes the first position in this list.
2. LG Google Nexus 5X (16 GB)
The Google Nexus 5 was very much applauded for it’s great design and people hoped that a successor of the same would be great for the year 2016. Well Google just read your mind and gave a fresh new look and launched Google Nexus 5X. The phone retains it’s plastic built and soft touch finish which gives good grip and feels great to hold. On the front we have a 5.2-inch Full HD display with 423 PPI on top of Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Under the hood we have a 1.8 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 Hexa Core processor with 2GB of RAM. It runs on the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow version and since it’s a Nexus device, it will receive the latest updates from Android as they are released(And that truly is the beauty of Nexus devices!). The Nexus line-up has always been in trouble for their poor quality optics. But this time Google ought to make it right. And they did it to an extent. The Nexus 5X sports a 12.3 MP rear shooter with f/2.0 aperture, 4K video recording, dual-LED and Laser Assisted Autofocus. On the front we have a 5 MP shooter that gets the job done. The phone also comes with a fingerprint scanner situated on the back of the device which feels just the right spot. The also comes with USB Type-C port for faster data transfer and quick charging. On the storage side we have two versions, 16GB or 32Gb and as last year the device misses out on microSD card slot. So you really need to check your usage and then go for the 16GB or the 32GB variant. The phone has a underpowered 2700 mAH non-removable battery which according to me is a little less considering it has a 5+inches screen. But the inclusion quick charge will help in charging the device quickly.
I’ve always been a Nexus lover, so it ought to be in the list. But the Nexus 5X is really a great device altogether. If you’re someone who loves the Stock Android and don’t mind the lack of expandable storage and dual SIM slot, then the Google Nexus 5X will serve you great.
3. Moto X Play(With Turbo Charger)
The Moto XPlay is one device that you should consider if you love simplicity and performance. The Lenovo owned company Motorola made some of the great budget devices. The Moto G series has been it’s best seller and the Moto XPlay is no slouch either. On the front we are greeted with a 5.5-inch 1080P HD display with 403 PPI and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and the front facing speakers. Under the hood we have an Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor clocked at 1.7 GHz with 2 GB of RAM and an Adreno 405 GPU. And for the optics we get a 21 MP shooter on the rear with 2.0 aperture and a 5 MP front shooter. The device has an internal storage of 32GB out of which approximately 25GB is available for user. And the good thing is that it supports microSD card upto 128 GB and if that wasn’t enough you also get USB OTG support. That’s a lot of memory to use. And all this firepower is managed by an equally powerful 3630 mAH battery. The battery is adequately sized and should give you more than a day of usage with some juice left. One good thing that every Motorola handset has is it’s bloat free software and near stock experience. The Moto XPlay is running on Android 5.1 Lollipop and will be ready for an OTA update for Android 6.0 Marshmallow right out of the box.
I’ve been a Moto user for more than a year with no issue. So as I said earlier, this device is for those who like simplicity and performance. One thing to keep in mind is that the device supports Turbo Charging but the included charger is a basic one. So in order to utilize the turbo charging you’d have to buy a new charger.
4. Asus Zenfone 2 ZE551ML
The Asus Zenfone 2 ZE551ML has really been a great performer in the recent past. If we ignore the confusing naming convention used, the phone is indeed a beast when it comes to specifications. The phone comes in different variants and here we are discussing about the top end model, the one that comes with 64GB on board storage and 4GB of RAM.
On the front we have a 5.5-inch IPS HD display with 401 PPI and Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The screen is an LCD display which is not very bright. The phone has a 13 MP rear shooter with f/2.0 aperture and dual LED flash. And on the front we have a 5 MP f/2.0 shooter. On the inside we have Intel Atom Z3580, clocked at 2.3 GHz and GPU is handled by PowerVR G6430. This is a killer combo that never runs out of performance. The phone has a brushed metal looking plastic back that is removable. The phone has an internal storage of 64GB and supports microSD card expansion for upto 128GB.
The Asus Zenfone 2 ZE551ML is a performer with no bells and whistles, period. Though there may arise a confusion due to it’s very bad naming convention. So if you’re going to buy the device, do take a closer look as to which one you’re going to buy.
5. Nextbit Robin
Now this one’s a fairly new phone, in fact it hasn’t been released for the India market at the time of writing this article. The Nextbit Robin will be launching on 27th, April,2016. The Nextbit, which started off as a kickstarter campaign was started in August,2015. The company was backed by many and was indeed well adopted by the US. Now it’s headed to make it’s mark in the Indian Market.
Robin has been touted as the phone that never runs out of storage. It mainly focusses on Nexbit’s cloud capabilities that can sync user data and installed applications to it’s own cloud storage. The phone comes with decent specifications, though not the latest but still usable. On the front you are greeted by a 5.2-inch HD IPS display. On the inside you have Snapdragon 808 with 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage with 100 GB of free cloud storage. You also get a fingerprint sensor placed under the power button. Other features include USB Type-C, 2680mAh battery, stereo speakers, 13MP rear and 5MP front shooters.
The phone is unique in every way and you’ll get all the eyeballs rolling if you own this device. On the other hand the storage capabilities will also help you if you’re someone who just cannot get enough from it’s phone’s storage. Well I’m interested to get this device for sure.
